I am a high school student at Twinfield Union School, a small public school in Central Vermont. A large part of my identity as a student, I would say, is my love of personalizing my learning. Since about 8th grade I have been doing everything possible to make my educational experience more interesting. My school's Renaissance Program provides pathways for me to design my own learning experiences. It's because of this program that I have had the chance to train in different areas of fine arts
and more.

Throughout the past four years I have worked with August Burns, a portrait artist based in Middlesex VT.
I began with basic drawing concepts such as gradients, measuring, and other techniques using still life.
From there we moved into the portrait, looking at planes of the face, and anatomical proportions.
The next year we focused on oil paints in still life, and drawing the figure.
Now in the present I am revisiting portraits and moving into painting the human face by copying master works.
This website is a portfolio and reflection space for my work throughout this most recent study.
